Michael Darcy Jr. wrote to us about supporting his proposal for joining the Gorey town park with the adjoining showgrounds. He was trying to give local clubs a chance to get a proper sports facility formed for the local sports clubs that had no grounds. The week bfore, the hockey club were kicked out of their grounds. He had his work cutout for himself. There was a massive problem with the trustees of the showgrounds etc. and progress was very tough. We spent the latter part of that year working on our proposal and skating as much as possible.
