We visited the South East Business and innovation centre which was the Avenue in Gorey. Here a very helpful Margaret Power got us started on a business plan. What the hell is a business plan? It basically covered all aspects of a skatepark as a business idea, form marketing, to direct competition form other areas. It was broken down in to differnt sections and included everything we could put into it. We wrote up a questionnnaire and sent that off to 5 schools aroun the county. Waited a few weeks and found out there were loads of skaters all over Co. Wexford. This was the first real research we had done into the skate scene in our area. This business plan would go through many changes and become the Goreyskatepark proposal which would be presented to the Wexford Co. Council in years to come.
FebruaryWe applied again to the VEC for the sports grant.
JanuaryAnother letter fromn Ivan about lottery funding for the club. He had written to the Sports Minister on our behalf. This never went anywhere as the application for lottery funding very extensive and requires professionals to fill it out. We had to have a massive amount in place and it just wasnt feasable to apply.
