A letter from Michael Darcy to confirm we had recieved £150 in funding from the Amenity grants scheme. WOW. 150 pound!!! It was amazen, we had actually gotten a cheque in the post addressed to the club for 150 pound. It was like christmas. Everyone was well impressed. We all were. From that point on, we applied for anything going. Just because we had no place to call home, we always applied. All this thanks to Ivan Yeats.
MarchWe recieved forms for the Amenity Grants scheme 98 and filled them and sent them off.
JanuaryAfter the ramps being dumped we decided after some advice from our parents, to go and talk to a Local TD. Ivan Yeats had a clinic every week in Gorey so we decided we should visit him. Ciaran Halford and Grant Masterson went along and we asked him about how to set up a club and get funding for it. And this is where it all began. He suggested about getting a bank account set up, a name, some club trustees and forming a commitee with a chairman, secretary and treasurer etc. The next week, Mark waddock and hisa sister Helena and Grant made up the committee with other as officers. We got Derek Webb (webbs sports shop), Sean Halford (town commissioner at the time) and Peter Sinnot (manager of Tescos where grant was working at the time) to be our trustees.
